Esther's Tamale Pie
Pie recipe is very old, it was given to me when I was 21 while working at Transonic. Esther was an older co-worker who had gotten the recipe off a Cock-Of-The Walk tomato can when she was a young lady.  It is delicious and makes a good pot luck dish.

3      pounds hamburger meat
2      onions, chopped
2      cloves garlic, minced
1      bell pepper, chopped
1      large can tomatoes
1      can cream corn
1      can whole kernel corn
1      small can tomato sauce
3      tablespoons chili powder, or to taste
1      cup cornmeal
1 1/2  cups milk
1      can whole olives (without seeds)

Brown meat, garlic, onions, bell pepper until meat is no longer pink. Add chili powder and cook until meat is done.   In large stew pan, add tomatoes, corn, tomato sauce and milk. Heat this mixture adding cornmeal slowly until thickened, but not stiff, stirring constantly.  Add meat mixture, salt to taste, add olives. Put in large casserole dish.   Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

This makes a large pie, to make smaller pie, cut ingredients in half.
